High in South Tyrol’s Sarentino Alps, we found
Der Zirmerhof, a mountain hideaway that combines alpine soul with vineyard tradition. Dating back to the 12th century, this historic estate isn’t just a hotel - it’s a working farm and winery, where heritage and hospitality go hand in hand.
We loved starting the day with sweeping views over meadows and peaks, then exploring the estate’s cellars to taste wines grown from vines nurtured in this unique alpine terroir. Dinner was always a highlight too, with farm-to-table dishes paired beautifully with local bottles. The rooms mix rustic charm and comfort, and there’s a sense of quiet authenticity that’s rare to find.
Staying here gave us both the thrill of the mountains and the warmth of South Tyrolean wine culture. It's the kind of place that stays with you long after you’ve left.
