Overlooking Merano and the vineyards of South Tyrol,
Hotel Wessobrunn is a former monastery turned into one of the most peaceful wine country stays we’ve experienced. The history truly runs deep here. Monks once tended these same slopes centuries ago, and today the estate still carries that quiet, timeless atmosphere - only now with modern comfort woven in.
We loved waking up to views of the vineyards and mountains, then strolling through the gardens before settling into a spot by the pool. Local wines, many from Merano’s surrounding hillsides, are always close at hand, and dinners pair seasonal South Tyrolean flavours with bottles that speak of the land. The rooms are cozy and elegant, many with balconies that make you want to linger with a glass of something crisp as the sun sets. What more could you ask for?
