  • Kraljev Vrh Show on map
We recently stayed at Kuća za odmor Sunce, and it wasn’t just the peaceful skies or the quiet garden that lingered with us. Instead it was the on-site vineyard and their wine heritage that made it truly unforgettable. With a third of the 16,000 m² property planted in grapevines such as Graševina, Rhine Riesling, Muscat Yellow, and a mix of red and white varietals - this isn’t just a holiday house. It’s a working vineyard right out your window... Inside, the villa is perfect for relaxing: the terrace quickly became our favorite spot for morning coffee and for sampling grapes straight from the vines. We also popped by nearby family-run wineries to sample varieties grown here on the property. Or if you'd rather stay put, the small selection of on-property wines (grown right there) makes for a simple, satisfying evening under the stars. Read more

  • Kutjevo Show on map
Perched among Kutjevo’s famed vineyard slopes, this charming villa feels like your own slice of wine country heaven. Four bedrooms, a sun-swept terrace, and free bikes mean you're all set for a laid-back escape among vine rows and mountain views. The wine culture here is warm and genuine. Antun, the owner, feels like an old friend and eagerly guided us through tastings in their cellar, from crisp Graševina and Pinot Noir to the legendary local red, Kitokret... We spent golden evenings sampling bottles straight from the vineyard- under starlit skies and started to regret that our stay wasn't longer. Read more

  • Strigova Show on map
There is something instantly appealing about Wine & boutique hotel Terbotz. Set on the hill in Štrigova, surrounded by the vineyards of Međimurje, it brings together the three things this quietly underrated wine region does best: white wines, warm hospitality and long, lingering meals. The estate is rooted in the Jakopić family property, where generations have produced wine, and the restaurant was built back in 2002 on the foundations of an old manor... The wine side is central, not decorative. Terbotz is tied to the winery, where labels such as Rhine Riesling, Sauvignon, Yellow Muscat, Green Sylvaner and the local red črleno are part of the story, and guests can taste them without ever leaving the hill. The hotel itself is new and intimate, with 14 rooms, vineyard views, a tasting room, steam room, spa services and the sort of calm that makes a second night feel like the obvious decision. Then there is the food, which clearly matters here. Terbotz actually already had a reputation as a destination restaurant before the hotel arrived. This is the one to book when you want Croatian wine country with real regional character, a little hilltop drama and a glass never too far from the next excellent plate. Read more

Wine Paradise takes a fresher approach to the classic wine-country break. Set above the Slovenian coast in Marezige, it swaps old-world formality for glamping-style accommodation, private wellness touches and wide vineyard views, all within easy reach of local wine roads. The appeal is not just the setting, but the mood. There is wine, of course, but also jacuzzis, terraces, pool time and a more current, social energy than many traditional vineyard stays... Ideal for travellers tired of overly staged wine hotels. This one stands out for the right reasons. Read more

Croatian wine is still a hidden gem for many - but staying at Winery Cuj Bed & Breakfast gives you a front-row seat to its quiet brilliance. We visited during a trip through Istria and instantly fell for the charm of this family-run estate. Set among the vines, the B&B is simple, welcoming, and deeply connected to the land. Our room was bright and comfortable, with views straight onto the vineyard... Mornings started with a homemade breakfast, followed by tastings of their excellent Malvasia and Teran wines, led by the winemakers themselves. • Pag Island Show on map
Boutique Hotel Boškinac is for anyone who likes their wine hotels with a little edge. Located on Pag Island, between the pines, the vineyard and the olive groves, it offers only a small number of lovely rooms and suites. But the whole thing feels far bigger in atmosphere: stone walls, a pool, a proper sense of privacy, and a landscape that is equal parts lunar and Mediterranean. Then there is the wine and food side... The winery draws on vineyards cultivated over generations, with Pag’s salt, stone and wind shaping the wines, while the restaurant turns island ingredients into something more ambitious and modern. It is the kind of place that feels deeply local without ever feeling sleepy - which is probably why it is so easy to imagine booking a stay immediately. Read more

  • Varaždin Show on map
STRUČIĆ WINERY ESTATE trades the usual winery-hotel formula for something more private. In the Ludbreg wine area of northern Croatia, the stay centres on a four-bedroom villa with lake views, a terrace, a fireplace and enough space to make the whole weekend feel self-contained rather than scheduled. The connection to Stručić Boutique Winery gives it more character than a generic countryside rental... Wine is part of the setting, not a decorative extra, and that makes a difference: the place already feels tied to the landscape before the first bottle is opened. This is where a long dinner outside makes sense, where no one is in a hurry, and where the vineyard backdrop quietly carries the whole stay. Read more

  • Bjelovar-Bilogora Show on map
Bed&Breakfast Vinarija Coner keeps the format simple: rooms, restaurant, winery, countryside. Out near Bjelovar, that simplicity works in its favour. The atmosphere reads more local stopover with good wine than carefully manufactured wine-tourism concept, which is exactly why it comes across so well. The wine is what pulls everything together. Guests can taste on site, eat in the restaurant and stay over without the experience feeling split into separate parts... Local and unfussy, with vineyard energy and a warm, easy atmosphere. That's how we would sum up this place. A very good pick for anyone who prefers authenticity over over-designed wine tourism. Read more

  • Krapina-Zagorje Show on map
Winery, Restaurant & Pension Vuglec Breg brings together three things Croatia does especially well: wine, traditional architecture and countryside views that make lunch run late. Near Krapina, the rooms are set across six traditional northern Croatian cottages, which immediately gives the place more character than a standard rural hotel. Wine is central, but so is the broader mood of the estate... There is a restaurant, a winery, a heated outdoor pool and enough open space to make it easy to stay put for a full weekend rather than treating it as a stop along the way. This is a strong choice for travellers who want their wine trip to come with a sense of place. Rustic in the right ways, comfortable where it counts, and much more memorable than a quick tasting-room visit. Read more

Relaxed, warm, and authentic. That's how we would describe Casa Rossa Motovun. Set in the heart of Istria’s rolling wine country it's surrounded by olive groves and vineyards that stretch toward the amazing hilltop town of Motovun. This lovingly restored 19th-century manor house blends simple elegance with genuine Croatian charm. Inside, rooms feel welcoming with rustic details - exposed stone walls, wooden beams, and windows opening onto vine-draped gardens... But it’s the personal touches that shine: homemade olive oil, garden-fresh vegetables for brunch, and a bottle of the estate’s own Malvazija waiting when you arrive. Guests can wander through the nearby vineyards, join an informal tasting in the family cellar, or head into the hill town for panoramic views and local truffles.
