If you're anything like us and absolutely love a great wine hotel getaway - then you'll definitely adore the Château de Mercuès. A 13th‑century stronghold turned Relais & Châteaux haven, located deep in the Lot Valley. We had the pleasure of staying few days at Château la Gineste and it quickly became clear this isn’t your typical wine estate. The vineyards here are organic, the Malbec and Merlot grown with real attention to the land rather than for show. Tastings take you from the vines to the cellars, offering generous pours and straight-up conversations about the wine-no pretension, just people who know their craft. The château itself has an easy elegance... Spacious rooms with period details, long breakfasts, and a lovely pool for when the sun gets too much. And not to mention the terraces - perfect for opening whatever bottle you picked up earlier. It’s quiet, comfortable, and unpolished in the best way.
