  • Burgundy (Pierreclos) Show on map
Burgundy is the birthplace of some of the world’s most prized Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and its vineyards have been carefully tended since medieval times. At Château de Pierreclos, you don’t just taste that history - you sleep in it! This beautifully preserved castle dates back to the Middle Ages and now doubles as both a boutique hotel and a working winery... Guests can tour the historic cellars, taste estate wines crafted from surrounding vineyards, and soak in views of the rolling Mâconnais hills. Rooms blend antique charm with modern comfort, while breakfasts are served in vaulted stone halls that whisper centuries of stories. It’s a stay that feels both grand and intimate, rooted in Burgundy’s heritage yet full of warmth. Honestly, it’s the kind of place that makes you fall in love with wine country all over again. • Burgundy (Saint-Aubin) Show on map
Château de Saint-Aubin sits quietly along the Route des Grands Crus in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, surrounded by some of the world’s most revered vineyard plots. Our stay here felt like stepping into the living fabric of Burgundian wine culture - with its vine-covered slopes and centuries of craft embedded in the landscape. Here, wine and place are inseparable... The estate farms parcels in Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, producing precise Chardonnay and refined Pinot Noir shaped by limestone soils. We spent our days exploring neighbouring villages and returning for on-site tastings and relaxed dinners in the nearby wine bistros. Our room was simple and elegant, with vineyard views and the quiet that only a small Burgundian village can offer. In our opinion, Château de Saint-Aubin is ideal for travellers seeking an authentic and intimate Burgundy experience. We left with a deeper appreciation for terroir - and a strong desire to return. • Burgundy (Montigny-la-Resle) Show on map
Experience a stay that feels like a true insider's escape in Burgundy. Chateau De La Resle is a charming, ivy-draped boutique hotel with contemporary luxury, eco-consciousness, and genuine warmth. Just a 20-minute drive from the vineyards and eateries of Chablis, it’s the perfect base for exploring the area. Owned by two Dutch art enthusiasts with a flair for design - the ten uniquely decorated rooms reflect their passion for detail... Once a week, they prepare an organic, veggie-forward, home-cooked meal. On other days, they can arrange seasonal gourmet platters for those who prefer to stay in. As a guest you can also unwind by the heated outdoor pool, explore the vineyards on electric bikes, or recharge with a sauna session, massage, or private yoga class. Read more

  • Burgundy (Puligny-Montrachet) Show on map
There is a particular thrill to staying in a village whose name is practically shorthand for white-wine greatness. COMO Le Montrachet sits in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, one of Burgundy’s most famous wine villages. Surrounded by the top wineries of the Côte de Beaune and within easy reach of Grand Cru tastings arranged directly through the hotel. In other words, the address is doing a lot of the work before you even unpack... What we love is the contrast between the setting and the brand. COMO brings its usual calm, tailored luxury, but here it is housed in an authentic 19th-century village building on a sleepy Puligny square. The result is not flashy at all - just deeply well placed, beautifully judged and rather dangerous for anyone already obsessed with Burgundy. Read more

The B&B itself is warm and inviting, with comfortable rooms that look out onto the surrounding vineyards. Each morning begins with a generous breakfast of local produce, and from there, the wine takes center stage. • Burgundy (Clessé) Show on map
What stayed with us the most at Château de Besseuil was the sense that Burgundy was doing exactly what Burgundy does best: old stone, serious Chardonnay country, and no need to show off. The château sits in Clessé, right in the heart of the famous Viré-Clessé appellation. A fun fact is that this corner of the Mâconnais is often described as part of the cradle of Chardonnay, so you are not just sleeping near vineyards - you are staying in one of the grape’s spiritual homes... The hotel itself is more varied than we expected, with 14 rooms and 6 apartments split between the main château and its outbuildings. Some spaces lean traditional, others much more contemporary, and many look out over the vines or courtyard. Add a gastronomic restaurant, wine tastings, cellar visits and easy access to places like Cluny, Tournus and Roche de Solutré, and this becomes a very convincing base for a Southern Burgundy escape. • Burgundy (Morey-Saint-Denis) Show on map
Burgundy as a wine region does not need much help, but Castel de Très Girard gives it an elegant little boost. In Morey-Saint-Denis, right on the Grands Crus route between Dijon and Beaune, this 17th-century château-turned-hotel places you among some of the world’s most coveted vineyards. Then adds a restaurant, pool and easy access to nearby spa indulgence. It is a classic Burgundy move: old stone, green surroundings, and bottles that matter very much indeed... What makes it even more memorable is how neatly it balances refinement and ease. Guests come here for food, the village setting and the fact that you are surrounded by famous vineyards in every direction. This is one for Pinot Noir pilgrims, anniversary travellers and anyone who likes their wine trips with a little more quiet confidence than spectacle. Read more
