There is a particular thrill to staying in a village whose name is practically shorthand for white-wine greatness. COMO Le Montrachet sits in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, one of Burgundy’s most famous wine villages. Surrounded by the top wineries of the Côte de Beaune and within easy reach of Grand Cru tastings arranged directly through the hotel. What we love is the contrast between the setting and the brand. COMO brings its usual calm, tailored luxury, but here it is housed in an authentic 19th-century village building on a sleepy Puligny square. The result is not flashy at all - just deeply well placed, beautifully judged and rather dangerous for anyone already obsessed with Burgundy.
