Sleeping inside a giant wine barrel is one way to make a Burgundy trip memorable. At Domaine Joseph LAFARGE Wine Resort, you can choose between traditional guest rooms, cottages and six wooden “wine barrels” named after grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Gamay.

The Lafarge family has been growing vines in the Mâconnais for nearly three centuries and ten generations, producing everything from Mâcon-Lugny to Crémant de Bourgogne. Winery visits finish with a tasting of the estate wines. Fun, genuinely wine-focused and refreshingly unpretentious – we think this is a brilliant Burgundy find.
