We recently got the chance to stay at
Posada Mawida during a trip through Lunlunta, and it quickly became a favourite. Set on a 10-hectare estate that combines hospitality with winemaking, the property has a much more intimate scale than many of the region’s larger wine resorts. It contains of just four double rooms, one triple room and three lofts set above the vineyard, all surrounded by gardens, vines and mountain views.
What we liked most was the balance. The rooms are warm and unfussy, the lofts come with private decks looking out to the Andes, and there is a pool, wine cellar and generous outdoor space that make it very easy to slow down.
The wine connection is what ties it all together. Mawida is not just a pretty countryside inn near wineries; it is part of a wine estate in Maipú, one of Mendoza’s classic wine areas, so the vineyard setting feels central rather than decorative. The result is low-key, personal and deeply connected to the land around it - exactly the kind of place that turns a simple wine trip into something much more memorable.
