In the heart of Franciacorta, just a short drive from Lake Iseo we found
Villa Biondelli Wine & Suites. A stunning 18th-century estate that wraps organic vineyards, a two-hectare park and one of Italy’s most exciting sparkling-wine regions into one beautifully self-contained stay. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grow right around the villa, feeding the Biondelli family’s Franciacorta wines, and guests can step straight into cellar visits and tailored tastings that make the wine story feel central, not decorative.
What gives the place extra character is its history. The villa became the Biondelli family’s summer residence in the 1940s, then reopened in 2018 after a careful restoration. Even better, it once housed an Italo-American animation production working on The Singing Princess, a film drawn from One Thousand and One Nights decades before Disney’s Aladdin - and some of the original artwork still inspired the interiors. The 11 suites look onto the park or vines, with frescoes, vintage pieces and a dreamy, haute-bohemian mood throughout.
A stay here is not just about sleeping in a beautiful villa. It is about slipping into the slower, fizz-fuelled rhythm of one of Lombardy’s most seductive wine landscapes.
