Spending a few days at
Cap de Castel was one of our highlights during a road trip in France. Set in the medieval village of Puylaurens, this 17th-century stone mansion looks out over vineyards, sunflower fields, and the distant Pyrenees. The views alone are worth the trip, but the atmosphere is what makes it unforgettable.
Our room blended rustic charm with just the right amount of modern comfort, and mornings started with homemade breakfasts on the terrace while the countryside slowly came to life. Afternoons were for lounging by the pool, exploring nearby Gaillac wineries, or wandering through quiet village streets that haven’t changed in centuries. Dinner at the hotel’s restaurant was another highlight. With seasonal dishes, beautifully prepared, and paired with wines that reminded us just how good this region can be.
