Vinarosa Resort & Spa makes a very strong first impression by being set on a 92-acre working vineyard estate in Sonoma County. That number matters, because it gives the whole place breathing space: redwoods, gardens, courtyards and vineyard views, all wrapped around an intimate, four-diamond, California-certified green hotel. It is a wine-country resort, yes, but one with enough land and personality to feel rooted rather than generic.
Then there is the food story, which we found especially appealing. John Ash is one of Sonoma’s early farm-to-table names, and having that vineyard-facing restaurant on site gives the stay more character than the average spa-resort script. Add the plunge pool, bocce and long-tenured team the resort itself makes a point of celebrating, and this feels like Sonoma for people who want more than just a bed between tastings.
