There is something delightfully unexpected about
Leigh Park Country House Hotel & Vineyard. One minute you are in Bradford-on-Avon, a postcard-pretty Saxon town just outside Bath, and the next you are in a Georgian country house with its own vineyard in the garden.
The hotel sits in five acres of grounds and Leigh Park’s own vineyard plays a big part of the identity here. Also, the on-site restaurant is very pointedly called
The Vine, which tells you the hotel knows exactly what story it wants to tell. The guest rooms are all individually designed, with the best categories serving up more space and those lovely downland views.
What we like most is the contrast: Georgian elegance, a touch of wine-country novelty, and Bath close enough for a cultural detour when needed. This is a very easy one to recommend.
