Owl’s Perch - Otium Wine Estate is the place to start if you want to understand the whole Otium story. Set on an 80-acre Hampshire estate near Selborne, Otium was born when its owners swapped London for the South Downs. They started to plant Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier in 2021, and set out to make traditional-method sparkling wine from ancient sandstone soils... Their first release is due in 2026, which makes a stay here feel a little like getting in early on something exciting. The cottage itself is one of four restored oak-barn conversions, with a log burner, roll-top bath, rainfall shower and a private balcony over the vines. Add lakes, walking trails and dog-friendly pubs nearby, and this is an easy sell for romantics, walkers and English wine obsessives. Read more

The cozy Hot Tub Retreat is the most shamelessly escapist address on the Otium Wine Estate. Instead of cottage cosiness, this one goes full shepherd’s-hut fantasy: wood-fired hot tub, wood burner, and open skies and vines all around. It sits among Otium’s young vineyard blocks in that same quiet South Downs corner, so even though the estate’s sparkling wines are still maturing toward their first 2026 release, the wine-country mood is already very much in place... What makes it special is the simplicity. It is designed for slow evenings, big views and that deliciously dangerous phrase, “just one more glass.” Best for couples, celebrations and anyone who wants their vineyard stay to feel private, tiny and wildly romantic. Robin’s Nest is for guests who want the classic Otium Wine Estate mix: vines, South Downs views and the sort of country polish that never tips into fuss. Like Owl’s Perch and Hawk’s Ledge, it is one of the estate’s restored oak-barn conversions, but its own personality comes through in the easy layout and that bedroom opening onto a private balcony above the vineyard... Inside, there is a log burner for cooler nights, a roll-top bath, rainfall shower and gardens leading straight onto farmland, lakes and walking trails. In other words, this is the one for people who want a vineyard escape with a little more room to exhale and a very good pub walk built in. Read more

Oast House - Otium Wine Estate has the strongest sense of character of the bunch. While the barn conversions are all about oak-framed calm, this one gives you an actual converted oast house - that wonderfully English architectural oddity with a round tower and serious storybook energy. Set among Otium’s vines, woodland, farmland and fishing lakes, it also comes with vineyard views from the bedroom, which is a strong start to any wine weekend... The real hook is the layout: a circular lounge for cosy evenings and a spacious bathroom with a jacuzzi bath after long countryside walks. Perfect for couples who like a stay with a bit more personality. This is probably the estate’s most memorable sleep. Read more

Hawk’s Ledge - Otium Wine Estate takes the Otium formula and gives it a slightly more airy, outdoorsy slant. It shares the estate’s core pleasures - 80 acres of vineyard, South Downs views, log burner, roll-top bath and rainfall shower - but the private balcony and direct access to gardens, farmland and trails make it especially appealing for guests who plan to spend as much time outside as in... That matters here, because Otium is not only accommodation: it is a young English sparkling-wine estate planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. So even before the first bottles land, there is a strong sense of being part of an estate in the making. Go here for walking boots, good books and a bottle waiting on the balcony. Read more

Vineyard View - Otium Wine Estate is the sleekest, most date-night-ready stay on the estate. Unlike the barn conversions or the shepherd’s hut, this is a luxury studio built around one killer feature: a glass gable that floods the room with light and frames uninterrupted views across the vineyard and the South Downs. It is hard to overstate how much that window is doing, and we mean that as a compliment... The rest is cleverly judged: king-size bed, roll-top bath, walk-in shower, full kitchen and even a wine cooler for easy evenings in. Best for couples who want the Otium vineyard story, but with a little more boutique-studio style and a little less cottage cosiness. Read more
