Staying in a 19th-century neo-Gothic castle surrounded by 300 hectares of vineyards is hard to beat. Monte la Reina sits in the heart of Toro wine country, with just eight rooms inside the beautifully restored castle and views across the vineyards and Vega del Duero.

The estate has its own modern winery and produces wines from Tinta de Toro and Verdejo, including grapes from some remarkably old vines.
