  • Umbria (Orvieto) Show on map
High in the Umbrian countryside near Orvieto, Altarocca Wine Resort delivers the version of wine country that is hardest to resist: rolling vines, olive groves, spa time, and long views that make the outside world feel very far away. The estate stretches across twenty hectares of organic vineyards and olive trees, with rooms and suites spread through four villas. Wine is central, but never in a heavy-handed way... It sits naturally alongside the adults-only calm, the wellness focus, and the slower rhythm of the property. That balance is what gives the resort its pull: you can taste, switch off, and stay fully in the landscape without needing to choose between vineyard trip and spa break. Read more

  • Umbria (Gubbio) Show on map
Umbria may not shout as loudly as Tuscany, but places like Cantina Semonte Wine Resort make a very strong case for listening more closely. Set in the hills outside Gubbio, this beautifully restored wine resort folds together vineyards, a restaurant and elegant rooms in a way that feels wonderfully complete. The estate stretches across about 13 hectares in the Eugubio area, where clay-and-limestone soils and a temperate hill climate shape the wines with a distinctly local identity... The stay itself sounds every bit as tempting as the wine. There are 11 rooms set among the vines, plus an infinity pool, gardens and views that make it very easy to slow down properly. Inside, the mood is intimate and refined rather than showy, while Il Custode restaurant keeps things rooted in the region with seasonal local dishes paired with the estate’s own bottles. What really lifts the place is how naturally the wine is woven into everything. Tastings and cellar visits are part of the rhythm here, and the estate’s labels are tied to a broader revival of historic winemaking in the area. Book this one if you want a wine escape with Umbrian soul, vineyard calm and the kind of setting that makes a long lunch turn into an entire afternoon. Read more

  • Umbria (Foligno) Show on map
Just above Lake Bolsena, Agriturismo Le Vigne offers a softer, more grounded take on the wine stay. The property sits in a hilly garden setting along the Via Francigena, a short distance from the town centre, with lake views that give the farmhouse and annexes a calm, open feel. What works here is the simplicity of it... A large farmhouse, green space, a seasonal pool, and a location between Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany make it easy to use as a base for slow days, local wine and long meals rather than a tightly planned itinerary. It does not try to be dramatic, and that is part of its appeal. The lake view, the countryside setting and the easy pace do enough on their own. Read more

  • Umbria (Orvieto) Show on map
High above Orvieto’s dramatic cliffs, Locanda Palazzone is the kind of place that makes you stop and take in the view before even unpacking your bag. This 13th-century palace, once built to host pilgrims, has been beautifully reimagined as a boutique wine resort surrounded by its own vineyards. Inside, the 7 suites are elegant yet understated, with stone walls and tall windows framing Umbria’s rolling countryside... Outside, rows of vines stretch toward Orvieto, producing the estate’s crisp, mineral-driven whites and velvety reds - wines you can taste right where they’re made. Dinner in the restaurant is a highlight, where modern interpretations of Umbrian cuisine come alive when paired with the Palazzone wines. For travellers who love history as much as wine, this is a place where the past and present meet in the most captivating way. Read more

  • Umbria (Todi) Show on map
Umbria has a way of seducing quietly, and Relais Todini plays that card beautifully. Set on a hilltop near Todi, surrounded by the vineyards of a vast 1,000-hectare estate, this is the kind of place where old stone, terracotta floors and wide valley views do most of the work before the first glass is even poured. The wine connection is built into the landscape itself, with vines all around and a setting that feels deeply tied to the agricultural soul of the region... Inside, the relais leans fully into Umbrian character. There are 8 rooms and 4 suites, each recently renovated with a mix of antique and modern furnishings, plus fireplaces, frescoes, tapestries and period details. The panoramic restaurant terrace looks toward Todi, and the wellness side goes well beyond the usual spa formula, with treatments, a chromotherapy Turkish bath, a wine-bath suite and an outdoor heated jacuzzi facing the hills. What makes a stay here even more memorable is the balance between the grandeur of an old-country estate, but also the warmth of a place designed for long lunches, slow mornings and evenings shaped by the Umbrian landscape. • Umbria (Todi) Show on map
Few wine stays manage to hold together vineyards, spa time, design and serious food without feeling over-composed. Roccafiore Wine Resort & Spa, in the hills near Todi, does exactly that. The setting is one of those broad Umbrian landscapes that seems to slow everything down on contact, with vineyards falling away below the infinity pool and the medieval skyline of Todi in the distance. The wine is only part of the draw, but an important one... Tastings and winery experiences sit alongside a spa, a botanical garden used by the restaurant, and rooms that mix warm materials with a more contemporary visual language. The estate also extends into a private Wine Chalet in the oak forest, which gives the whole property an extra layer of privacy and range. Everything about it invites a longer stay than you first planned. One afternoon at the pool, one dinner on the terrace, one visit to the winery - and suddenly Umbria has your full attention. • Umbria (Saragano) Show on map
In the hills between Montefalco and Spoleto, La Ghirlanda Wine Resort leans into everything that makes Umbria so hard to resist: old stone buildings, long green views, and a rhythm that immediately feels slower than the outside world. The estate stretches across 60 hectares in the land of Sagrantino, with rooms set inside a historic property tied to an Umbrian noble family that has been in the area for generations. Wine gives the place its backbone... You are not simply staying near vineyards, but inside an estate shaped by them, with the added pull of a bistrot and a setting that makes lunch or a tasting feel like a natural extension of the landscape. By evening, the whole property seems to settle into itself beautifully. One glass becomes dinner, dinner becomes another night, and Umbria starts to look very convincing indeed. Read more

  • Umbria (Panicarola) Show on map
On the southern shore of Lake Trasimeno we found Morami Wine Agriturismo. A 240-hectare family estate that has been linked to the Morami family since the 1600s. And there is something immediately convincing about that scale and continuity: vineyards, open land and a classic Umbrian farmhouse with eight apartments, all folded into one quiet corner of the countryside. Wine is central, but not in a heavy-handed way... Morami is first and foremost a working agricultural estate, which gives the stay a steadier rhythm and a stronger connection to place. The result feels less like a themed resort and more like being welcomed into a landscape that already knows exactly what it is. Read more

  • Umbria (Panicale) Show on map
Set on a gentle Umbrian hillside sprouting vineyards, olive groves, and centuries‑old trees, this fantastic relais offers historical charm with serene luxury. Housed in an 18th-century noble villa, its 27 rooms and suites retain terracotta floors, marble fireplaces, and rustic elegance. The wine experience is equally memorable: cellar tastings of over 300 Umbrian and Tuscan labels bring the region’s vineyards to the table... Another highlight is the complimentary spa, with facilities including two outdoor pools, an indoor pool, rooftop terraces, panoramic sauna, steam bath, and signature olive‑oil spa treatments. • Umbria (Castiglione del Lago) Show on map
A very easy place to fall for. Villaluce Wine Agriturismo is located within the Morami family estate near Lake Trasimeno, surrounded by Umbrian countryside and vineyards. The whole setup has that quiet, generous feeling that makes a short stay turn into a longer one. What makes it stand out is the sense of continuity behind it. The wider agricultural estate has it roots from the 1600s, and Villaluce is part of that wine story rather than a separate hospitality concept... Apartments are spacious, the pool is close by, and everything leans into a slower rhythm. Highly recommended if you want a wine accommodation in Umbria without the usual clichés. Read more

  • Umbria (Nocera Umbra) Show on map
Some stays do not need much gloss to leave an impression. Agriturismo Monastero Di San Biagio, near Nocera Umbra, is one of them. Set inside a former monastery in the Umbrian hills, it offers that rarer kind of escape where silence, greenery and old stone buildings do most of the work before you even reach the room. What makes it more interesting than a simple countryside retreat is the estate character behind it... There is a restaurant, a pool with a view, spa facilities, and, according to guest reviews, wine and even beer produced on the property itself. In other words - a working place with real atmosphere. Everything here points in the same direction: slower mornings, long dinners, and the sense that Umbria is at its best when nothing is rushed. Read more

  • Umbria (Orvieto) Show on map
Set in the Umbrian hills just outside Orvieto, Agriturismo Tenuta Lapone is exactly the sort of winery hotel we search for. The estate sits about 10 km from town and leans into all the pleasures people actually want from a rural wine escape: wide views, a pool, old fireplaces, quiet gardens and enough space to slow down properly. It is less glossy wine-resort, more relaxed hilltop retreat with a strong sense of place. What gives it extra charm is the setup... Tenuta Lapone offers both rooms and self-catering-style accommodation, with features like kitchenettes, terraces and independent entrances in some units, which makes the stay feel a little more personal and flexible than a standard hotel. Guests also have a tennis court, a bowling green and easy access to the surrounding countryside. A detail we like is the location in relation to Orvieto itself. You can spend the day among Etruscan history, cathedral façades and Umbrian trattorias, then head back to the hills for a slower evening with a bottle and a view. That balance is very much the point here: part rural hideaway, part base for exploring one of Umbria’s most atmospheric towns. Read more

  • Umbria (Assisi) Show on map
If a wine stay near Assisi is meant to feel peaceful, green and genuinely personal, Agriturismo Colle Pu gets it right. The property is set in a restored stone farmhouse among the Umbrian hills, with just six rooms, wooden beams, terracotta floors, a panoramic terrace and a guest-only restaurant that keeps the whole experience intimate from the start. The farm itself adds much of the appeal... Colle Pu is a certified organic estate with its own vineyard, olive grove and orchard, so the wine and food feel closely tied. There is also a seasonal pool to enjoy, while you admire the panoramic views and start thinking about which gourmet dinner to have in the hotel restaurant. It's the kind of place that quietly wins you over, and a very good reason let alone to travel to Umbria. Read more

A restored 17th-century farmhouse that puts sustainability and slow living at the center of the experience. The resort is intimate and characterful, with stone walls, timber beams, and rooms individually styled to reflect the seasons and moods of Umbria... Many feature private terraces or Jacuzzis overlooking the water and hills, creating a setting that feels both rustic and refined. Wine and food are naturally part of the rhythm here.
