Few wine stays can compete with the sheer drama of
Wine Resort Villagrande. On Etna’s eastern slope, around 700 metres above sea level, this historic estate looks out toward Taormina and the Aeolian island of Salina, with vineyards rooted in volcanic soils that have been cultivated by the family since 1727.
That mix of altitude, sea light and lava-rich terroir gives the whole experience a real sense of place before the first glass is even poured. Because after ten generations, Villagrande still feels alive rather than museum-like, with a spirit the estate itself describes as young and fresh.
Guests are not simply staying near Etna, but stepping into a living wine estate with tastings, hospitality and wines shaped very clearly by the mountain itself.
