Canonica di Corteranzo is a former rectory perched in the Monferrato hills. It has been transformed into a lovely wine stay with bags of character, ancient walls, vineyard views and the estate’s own wines. In other words; exactly the sort of atmosphere we fall for instantly.
Instead of slick resort, what waits here is something warmer and more romantic. The 10 rooms are individually styled with antique touches, timber beams and a quietly old-world feel, while the pool and spa add just enough indulgence to make lingering very easy indeed.
And then there is the food and wine. Tastings bring guests closer to the local terroir, and dinner here feels like one of those evenings that starts elegantly and ends with another bottle. For us, this is exactly the kind of place that turns a countryside break into something far more memorable.
