We didn’t expect a winery stay in Bulgaria’s Sakar Hills to feel this special, but Zaara Estate Winery Hotel & SPA won us over instantly. Vine-covered slopes, peaceful gardens, and a warm welcome set the tone. Our room was spacious, spotless, and opened onto views worth lingering over. Days slipped easily between wine tastings - award-winning reds, crisp whites, even a surprisingly good raspberry wine - and slow meals paired with the estate’s own bottles... The small spa, with its indoor pool, sauna, and salt room, was perfect after wandering the vines.
