Gästehaus Benediktinerstift Göttweig, the wine story runs deeper than almost anywhere else. This is a working Benedictine abbey whose vineyard history stretches back to 1083, making it one of Austria’s oldest wine estates. Guests are not just staying near the vines - they are sleeping inside a monastery tied to around 30 hectares of vineyards, with Grüner Veltliner and Riesling leading the charge. And tastings of the abbey’s own wines are of course available on site.
