Before you even get to the first glass of Amarone,
B&B Ca' Bernai already feels like a good decision. Tucked into Valpolicella among vineyards and olive trees, this small, family-run hideaway is more about ease and charm than grand wine-estate theatrics - which, honestly, is part of the appeal. Verona, Lake Garda and the hills of Lessinia are all within easy reach, but the surrounding wine country does plenty to keep you put.
The three guest rooms are surprisingly generous in size, bright, and designed for lingering rather than merely sleeping, with space for couples, small groups or longer slow-paced stays. Outside, there is an olive grove, open-air corners for unwinding, and vineyard views that make the whole place feel wonderfully tucked away.
And yes, breakfast actually deserves a mention here: homemade cakes, local cheeses and cold cuts from Valpolicella and Lessinia, plus the option to have it served in your room. For us, this is the kind of place that suits romantics, road-trippers and anyone who wants Valpolicella to feel warm, personal and deliciously unfussy.
