Set in Franciacorta’s celebrated wine region, this neo‑Renaissance villa sits amid its own vineyards and a private lake. The 58 individually styled rooms (including nine spectacular suites) offer vineyard or lake views, cozy fireplaces, and marble baths. The wine experience here is also superb. Dawn begins with e‑biking through estate vineyards scattered across the Bellavista hills... Lombardy (Rivanazzano) Show on mapFew stays in Lombardy make a stronger first impression than Tenuta Pizzone Wine Resort. Set in Rivanazzano Terme, this intimate wine-country address pairs beautifully restored agricultural buildings with private gardens and contemporary interiors. Add to that a kind of quiet that makes a weekend suddenly stretch out in the best possible way. The rooms have independent entrances, refined materials and a look that respects local rural architecture without getting stuck in nostalgia... But the wine angle is what gives it real purpose. Guests can take part of tastings of local production, and that matters here because Oltrepò Pavese is one of northern Italy’s most underrated wine territories - especially for Pinot Nero and traditional-method sparkling wines. Another highlight is the setting around it. Rivanazzano is known for its spa-town history, and the surrounding area opens up toward Varzi, hill villages and vineyard country, so there is more to do here than simply linger over breakfast on the patio - although that also sounds like an excellent plan. In other words: this is a smart, low-key wine retreat for guests who want Lombardy with charm, comfort and a little insider appeal. Lombardy (Cazzago San Martino) Show on mapIn the heart of Franciacorta, just a short drive from Lake Iseo we found Villa Biondelli Wine & Suites. A stunning 18th-century estate that wraps organic vineyards, a two-hectare park and one of Italy’s most exciting sparkling-wine regions into one beautifully self-contained stay... Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grow right around the villa, feeding the Biondelli family’s Franciacorta wines, and guests can step straight into cellar visits and tailored tastings that make the wine story feel central, not decorative. What gives the place extra character is its history. The villa became the Biondelli family’s summer residence in the 1940s, then reopened in 2018 after a careful restoration. Even better, it once housed an Italo-American animation production working on The Singing Princess, a film drawn from One Thousand and One Nights decades before Disney’s Aladdin - and some of the original artwork still inspired the interiors. The 11 suites look onto the park or vines, with frescoes, vintage pieces and a dreamy, haute-bohemian mood throughout. A stay here is not just about sleeping in a beautiful villa. It is about slipping into the slower, fizz-fuelled rhythm of one of Lombardy’s most seductive wine landscapes. Read moreGuest rating: 9.3 (superb)Price from: INR 34,762 /night

The rooms are welcoming and thoughtfully renovated and boasts breathtaking vineyard views from their private terraces... Lombardy (Pontida) Show on mapIn the green hills of Lombardy’s Valcalepio wine region, we came across something truly different: Polisena L’Altro. An agriturismo that is fully organic, entirely vegan, and deeply committed to sustainability. Plus all the charm and warmth you’d expect from a family-run wine estate. The rooms are set in a beautifully restored farmhouse, each one designed with natural materials and views over vineyards and the Bergamo Alps... What makes it extra special is the food: inventive vegan dishes paired with the family’s own organic wines, proving that wine and plant-based dining are a perfect match. We spent our days here by walking among the vines, relaxing on the terraces, and enjoying meals that felt both creative and full of flavour. Polisena is peaceful, forward-thinking, and welcoming - ideal for anyone who wants a winery stay with a modern, conscious twist. Read moreGuest rating: 9.1 (superb)Price from: INR 16,673 /night

Lombardy (Casteggio) Show on mapFor a long time we had been looking forward to visiting Prime Alture Wine Resort, and honestly, when we finally made it here it was a wine lover’s dream. Set in the heart of Lombardy’s Oltrepò Pavese region, the resort is surrounded by vineyards producing organic Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, Barbera, and more. All grown on limestone-rich slopes which is perfect for expressive, small-batch wines... Guests can take part of cellar tours, vineyard walks, and tastings of labels like their oak-aged Madame Chardonnay or the deep, structured 45° Ovest Barbera. And the fact that the resort only has six wine-themed suites makes it even more special. Quiet, personal, and focused on the experience. We can’t wait to return!
