Nashik Show on mapVallonne Vineyards was founded in 2009 as India’s first boutique winery, and is as India’s first wine professional-turned-vintner. That already makes it a much more interesting address than the average resort near Nashik. Add the location in Igatpuri, beside the Mukhne Dam with Sahyadri mountain views, and the whole thing starts sounding dangerously weekend-worthy... The hotel is tiny - just four rooms - which keeps everything intimate, and we love that the estate has the confidence to skip televisions so guests actually look out at the vines, lake and hills. The wine lineup has personality too: India’s only rosé made with Cabernet Sauvignon, dessert wines from sun-dried grapes in straw huts, and Grand Reserve bottles matured in a cellar 20 feet underground. Nashik Show on mapThe first thing to know about The Source At Sula is that it sits on the site of Sula’s first-ever winery. The one that helped turn Nashik into India’s most important wine region. That alone makes the stay feel significant. Sula calls it India’s first heritage winery resort, and there is something genuinely exciting about waking up in the middle of the estate that helped put Indian wine on the map. We also liked how deliberately wine-soaked the whole setup is... The views take in Sula’s vineyards, the Deccan hills and Gangapur Lake; the rooms are named after global wine regions; and the wider estate gives you restaurants, tastings and a direct line into one of the most influential stories in modern Indian wine. For us, this is one of those places where the fun fact is the main fact: you are sleeping at the source, quite literally. Read moreGuest rating: 8.6 (fabulous)Price from: MAD 1,060 /night

Nashik Show on mapIndia’s wine scene has grown rapidly in the last two decades, with Nashik often called the “Wine Capital of India.” But winery hotels are still rare here - which makes SaffronStays feel all the more special. Set right on the edge of a serene lake and surrounded by vineyards, this villa-style stay is all about slowing down and savouring the moment... The home itself is spacious and beautifully designed, with warm interiors, big windows framing the water, and plenty of outdoor space for long, lazy afternoons. Guests can sip local wines on the terrace, take a walk through the vines, or simply enjoy the peace that comes with being so close to nature. It’s private, picturesque, and perfect for groups of friends or families who want both comfort and a taste of India’s emerging wine country. Nashik Show on mapNot far from the vineyards of Nashik sits SaffronStays Onellaa, a lakefront villa that is more like a secret getaway than a typical holiday stay. It’s the kind of place where mornings roll in with mist over the water, afternoons are for swimming in the infinity pool, and evenings stretch out with a bottle of local wine under the stars. The villa itself is sleek and modern, with huge glass walls that keep the lake in view from nearly every corner. Inside, it’s all about comfort... Plush rooms, a breezy living space, and plenty of nooks to just kick back. Outside, you’ve got a private dock, wide terraces, and that incredible pool that almost blends into the lake. What makes it extra special is how easy it is to pair the serenity of this place with the growing wine culture nearby. A day of tastings in Nashik, then back to Onellaa for a sunset dip - it’s a mix of luxury and laid-back living we’d sign up for again in a heartbeat.
