A proper vineyard escape just 30 kilometres from Bangalore is not something we expected to find.
Big Banyan Vineyard & Resort spreads across 20 acres of greenery, with cottages and rooms tucked among lawns and trees and the winery right beside the vineyards.
This is one place where we would definitely book the wine experience. Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot are grown here, and guided tours take you through the vines and winery before a tasting with an expert sommelier. You can even finish with a multi-course lunch or dinner paired with Big Banyan wines. That makes it much more than simply a countryside resort with vines outside.
