Arriving at
Domaine Riberach felt like discovering one of those wine hotel gems you only hear about from locals. Set in the tiny village of Bélesta in Roussillon, the hotel is built inside a former cooperative winery - so yes, you’re literally sleeping where the wine once fermented. The history and character are everywhere, but it’s been transformed into something stylish, sustainable, and seriously inviting.
Our room was airy and modern, with views that spilled over the vineyards and hills, and the pool carved into the old wine cellar was unlike anything we’ve seen before. The restaurant was another highlight, serving creative dishes that leaned on local produce and paired perfectly with their own organic wines. Tastings on-site gave us the chance to sip those same wines while hearing the story of how the estate has been reimagined.
A true Roussillon secret - we’re of course already dreaming of going back.
