We really love wine estates where staying overnight means becoming part of life on the property for a few days. Château Canet sits in the Minervois countryside near Carcassonne, surrounded by around 150 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and Mediterranean woodland. This is a genuine working family wine estate, with tastings and vineyard walks right on the doorstep.

Accommodation is spread across charming cottages and studios with private outdoor spaces. There is also a heated pool, tennis and pétanque. Wine, sunshine and long evenings among the vines – this is exactly the sort of relaxed southern French stay we look for.
